Invitation
I invite you to a causal informative event to be held on Wednesday February 6th at 7:30 at First Baptist Church in Dubuque, Iowa. I will give a short presentation of more in-depth information about what I will do in South Africa, ask for your financial support and sing a song or two. There will be a small reception of South African cookies and ice-tea following the presentation.
I will also have a table set up with some of my homemade crafts for sale as an additional way of raising the money to go on this internship/mission trip.

Exciting News!
This is my first ever blog post! I had a blog with a really great name for my Astronomy class in college but we never used it. I was quite disappointed, but mostly because I loved the name I gave it! But oh well, I know that this blog will be utilized weekly for the next few months and I tried to come up with another name I loved. It's not as great as "Second to the Right" but "Singing in the Shadow of His Wings" will suffice.
I am going to South Africa! I will be interning with Rev. Seth Naicker in conjunction with IndiAfrique and Jeshua Community Church. I will be in South Africa for the months of March, April and May in 2013. On this blog I will highlight the work I am doing in preparation and the work I do in South Africa. You can expect to see photos and videos of the service I'm apart of there.
My trip to South Africa is both an internship and a mission trip. As an intern of IndiAfrique I will be testing the waters for future American students to spend a semester of ministry in South Africa. We will experiment with academic elements of the internship through the use of readings and an intensive research paper as well as other possibilities. As a member of the Jeshua Community Church I will work with Rev. Seth Naicker to discover the best ways to use the gifts God has given me for the use of building up the church. I will work within the church doing whatever is needed from speaking to cleaning and work with the church to bring messages of reconciliation and love to the greater community.
